Co-produced ‘One Dance‘ by Drake and Wiz Kid.
Without actually meeting with Drake, Dj Maphorisa managed to use his contacts with Wizkid to produce ‘One Dance’. While in the studio with WizKid in LA, Maphorisa was hooked up with Drake telephonically where here managed to have a back and forth with him and share beats and ideas which led to the making of One Dance.

DJ Maphorisa is involved in The Production of ‘Suited’ and ‘Ngudu’
Having worked with big names like Drake and so on, here two tracks you probably did not know Maphorisa produced.
Suited by Shekhinah was a mega-hit that shook the country and further cemented Shekhinah’s place in the industry. Another hit that took the nation by storm is you probably didn’t know was by Phorry is Kwesta’s Ngudu featuring Cassper Nyovest. It’s like Maphorisa just has the knack for creating hits no matter whatever genre he jumps on.
DJ Maphorisa Stopped Doing Gqom.
Maphorisa was first dubbed the Gqom King at some point as he sparked the fuel for the nationwide Gqomwave. DJ Maphorisa managed to work with the likes of Dj Tira, Busiswa and Distruction boyz to name a few. But for him, leaving the genre was not voluntary, it was because Durban based DJs and self-proclaimed pioneers of Gqom told him to stop producing Gqom because he did originate from Durban.

Never did any sport
This might not seem like a big deal up until you realize how huge sports is in the South African Culture and growing up in the townships you are bound to part take in some sport even if its just for fun. But Maphorisa shied away from playing any sports and used his free time to focus on his music throughout his school career.

In the same breath of being the man behind most tracks, we hear on the radio and has relationships with most artist including Wizkid. What you probably didn’t know is that Maphorisa was behind the production and engineering of Wizkids album Sounds From The Other Side. This album gave us tracks such as Sweet Love, Daddy Yo, One For Me featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Come Closer with Drake.
