As part of its long-standing collaboration with environmental initiative, Parley for the Oceans, Adidas Running and FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen have revealed a limited release UltraBOOST Parley silhouette to continue raising awareness for the threat of marine plastic pollution. This collaboration comes in the form of one of Adidas’ most comfortable sneaker silhouettes to date.
The UltraBOOST and UltraBOOST X feature an upper that is made from 85% Parley Ocean Plastic, that is gathered from marine pollution. It still takes on the favoured Sock-like fit with the sole made from Continental Rubber that offers and smooth, comfortable experience and high-performance grip. The utility function is not forgotten, as it’s still designed to be able to run in.
Marc ter Stegen had to say this about the collaboration, “I live by the sea and try to spend as much time as possible there. When I first learnt about the Adidas and Parley partnership, I immediately connected with it. I want to help change our environment through an initiative I believe in. I’m proud to partner with Adidas Running and Parley to create awareness for the beauty of our oceans and work on projects that can stop their destruction. With every pair of this limited UltraBOOST Parley shoe, we prevent approximately 11 plastic bottles from potentially entering the ocean. This is one big step in making the world a better place.”
A limited quantity of UltraBOOST and UltraBOOST X will be available online and instore from 16 April, retailing at R3299. For more information, please visit adidas.co.za or follow the @adidasZA conversation on Instagram and Twitter using #UltraBOOST #adidasParley.
