South African fashion designers have gained recognition both nationally and internationally for their innovative and creative designs that showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage and diverse fashion styles.
In major fashion weeks like Paris Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, iconic designers like Laduma Ngxokolo, Thebe Magugu, and David Tlale have been showcasing their work.

A typical fashion show usually involves models walking down a runway or catwalk in a large event space while showcasing a designer’s clothing collection, with the audience seated in rows facing the runway But there was nothing ‘typical’ about the ‘African Fashion Spaces’ show , it was everything mentioned an more.
The Space
Welcomed by a beautiful cocktail and the lovely landscape of the aesthetically pleasing beechwood gardens the Guests were already in for a treat, their attention to the concept of style and suave enhanced the overall subject of what it means to be young and African. Everything you wouldn’t anticipate from a fashion show, including interactive installations, a dance floor in the garden, and a runway on a tennis court and Visuals captured by Dji drones was precisely what AFS had to offer.
Long Season

One brand that acts as a link between high fashion and culture is Long Season, which is situated in Johannesburg. Unquestionably, the brand is on the rise. When it teamed up with Rocking the Daises to create a capsule collection featuring a range of merchandise in late 2021, it solidified its reputation. They collaborated with companies like Yoco and debuted their capsule line in 2022, continuing their rise.
The long season walkway was on a tennis court, and it had a lovely flash of orange color to go with the denim and classic white. Making the entire look both stylish and street-inspired
