Akuchi’s latest single, “No Games”, exemplifies his dedication to defying expectations and transcending genre boundaries. Rather than conforming to preconceived notions of Nigerian music, Akuchi is pioneering an original and innovative sound, emphasizing the universal connectedness found in all music genres and human experiences.
Discussing the new single, Akuchi explains, “I penned ‘No Games’ while in a modest apartment in Lagos, Nigeria. Creating this song felt like an act of rebellion; I recall being advised to steer clear of what some label as ‘foreign music’ if I wanted to succeed. Despite being born and raised in Nigeria, I recognize the constraints of the narrowly defined music scene here, but as a global-minded artist, I refuse to confine myself to any particular category.”
With “No Games”, Akuchi is poised to inspire and empower listeners to embrace their own unique paths and break free from constraints. Join Akuchi on his musical journey as he defies expectations and encourages us all to play by our own rules. “No Games” is available to stream now on all platforms.
