Supremely talented soulful singer-songwriters Leomile and Maleh join forces on Sesotho proverb inspired song Bana Ba Khoale
Both Lesotho-born, Leomile and Maleh come full-circle in what they feel is a divinely orchestrated collaboration. Titled Bana Ba Khoale, the collaboration sees these two friends meet in this laid-back, heartfelt and spiritual song.

“Bana ba Khoale”, is a Sesotho Proverb which means that kindred spirits have a code of communication only known to them, which helps them identify each other.
In a time where we are in a collective awakening, it is also a time where we go through a collective difficulty. In Bana Ba Khoale, Leomile and Maleh give us hope that peace returns and if you reach out, you will find your kind.
Written in Sesotho, both these musicians felt the deep importance of tapping into and preserving the rich wisdom of Sesotho. Leomile is known for her ability to deconstruct the alienating inheritance of the western colonial gaze on African culture. Doing so in her music and storytelling. Maleh on the other had is well known for her textured tales of folklore and moments of deep reflection in her music. Both these artists navigating these moments where are called back to ourselves and our cultures.
Guided by pianist and composer Nduduzo Makhathini and produced by trumpeter and composer Ndabo Zulu, Bana Ba Khaole is about the reassurance of faith and speaking things into existence, comes to life.
As they both work on their upcoming albums, there is no denying that we are going to experience something special.
