After 19 years since its debut, Nike has finally decided to bring back the Air Jordan 1 CO.JP ‘Midnight Navy’ however this time, the kicks receive a retro makeover.
The Air Jordan 1 CO.JP (Concept Japan) sneakers which are an incorporation of Japan-exclusive designs were originally limited to only 3000 pairs. Thus with their great scarcity, you can bet the shoes epitomized great style. Although the ‘Midnight Navy’ colourway has retained its original form, other classic details have received a refreshing new update.
The sneaker features uppers which have been constructed from white leather on the quarters, throats, toeboxes and collars. Appearing on the eyestays, collar flaps, heels as well as the mudguards is navy nubuck while metallic silver adds the final finishing touches to the shoes’ design by appearing on the midfoot Swooshes and the ball-and-wings badge.
As one of the main design aspects that have been altered, in the original pair of CO. JP’s, the badge was simply printed in white whereas as now it contains three-dimensional details. Additionally, the tongue branding elements are hit with different Nike detailing including a signature Nike Air logo text.
As far as availability of the kicks, they are expected to drop 14 November on Nike SNKRS of which they will be priced at roughly R2 817.05.
