Mpho Ursula Mashego is a Journalism graduate who is passionate about storytelling with over 7 years of experience in the media industry. Through her years in the industry, Mpho worked in different sectors - newspapers, online and print magazines, radio and television. Her career started at Polokwane Observer English/Afrikaans Newspaper while she was still studying her Diploma in Journalism at Rosebank College in 2008. This gave her the opportunity to be a desk journalist reporting crime, general and entertainment news. She later worked as an intern at one of South Africa's leading newspaper The Citizen to cover the 2010 World Cup. The internship introduced lead her to explore her other creative talent – by recording a voice-over radio advert for Absa (Wishing Bafana Bafana well for their 2010 games in English and Northern Sotho). She later freelanced for Small Enterprise Development Agency Polokwane. She also earned her stripes by working for www.zkhiphani.com (online youth magazine), Lebowakgomo Community Radio Station and The New Age Newspaper. She penetrated into the digital sphere at Africa investor (Ai), which supplies a broad range of investment data, research, broadcast and published content to a growing number of investors with interests in Africa. Mpho is currently a freelance Social Media and Content Creator. Specialities: Newsreading and writing, public speaking, writing, digital marketing, producer (television and radio content + short documentaries) and photography, PR and Communications.
