Halala hitmaker, DJ, producer and emerging Black Is Brown talent, Kay Invictus, has released his latest offering titled ‘YEYEE 2.0’ ahead of the release of his second EP titled ‘My Life In Music’ set to be released at the end of the month.
Following the success of ‘Halala’ and his debut EP 0202, Kay Invictus is back to take his rightful place in the Amapiano space with lead single, YEYEE 2.0. A single that is dedicated to make you feel good, it was created to make you want to have a good time. Hit the club to celebrate life and enjoy the nightlife. ‘YEYEE 2.0’ was inspired by fellow stablemates Zan’Ten’s single ‘YEYEE’ featuring Mr JazziQ off of their album ‘Another Version Of Us 2’.
Kay Invictus shares the making of the single; “I decided to create the second version, or as we call it, a 2.0 because the vocals/chants on the song blew me away and they really enjoyed the craft I created. This song is quite a happy song and can be played everywhere and everyone can surely dance to it and create beautiful memories.”
YEYEE 2.0’ promises to have us all on our feet as the anthem of summer.
Kabelo Pooe, known professionally as Kay Invictus, was born on February 2, 1994, in the vibrant Alexandra Township. From a young age, Kay Invictus was deeply immersed in music, drawing inspiration from his musically inclined family. His passion for the art form was further fueled by his love for Amapiano, a genre that captivated him with its distinctive style and fusion of elements from various genres, including Kwaito.
Kay Invictus has achieved significant milestones in his career, including collaborations with notable artists such as Kabza De Small, Major League DJZ, and Sizwe Alakine. One of his standout tracks, “Mduva,” was featured on a House Afrika compilation and later selected as a soundtrack for a major award show, marking a significant achievement in his career.
His breakout single, “Halala,” a collaboration with M.J, Mr JazziQ, and Mellow & Sleazy, has been a major hit, showcasing his unique sound and artistic vision. Additionally, Kay Invictus released his debut solo EP, “0202,” which has been met with enthusiastic responses from fans and critics alike.
With a goal to expand his brand and share his music with a global audience, Kay Invictus continues to craft and perform music that tells compelling stories and resonates deeply with listeners.
