Bonang Matheba, has struck again, this time with one of Africa’s most prestigious award nomination at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards. She has been nominated in the Best African Personality of The Year category and as the only female nominated, this is proof of her certainly being on a league of her own. The award, which was previously won by Big Screen superstar, Lupita Nyongo, is recognition of her sheer hard work and proof that anything is possible.
She’s nominated alongside international football star Yaya Toure, top SA comedian Trevor Noah and others. Her nomination comes right after she was awarded the Nickelodeon Kids Choice award for Best Radio Personality in South Africa and her nomination at the YOU Spectacular awards for Sexiest Woman & Social Media Star that are said to be announced this weekend (13th June 2015).
Queen B has not been able to contain her excitement about the news and how grateful she is to MTV, “This is really an honour and a privilege. To be recognized on a platform like this is not to be taken lightly. I now realize more than ever that my role in broader society is bigger than I have ever imagined before”. She further went on to say, “As the only female representative in this category it gives me great pleasure to carry the torch high. Thank you to my fans for the continued support and MTV for the nomination and recognition”.
