Today hundreds of moaners will pay their last respect as they head to the sad memorial service of the recently deceased kwaito artist Brown Dash who passed away last week after a long illness, in the midst of this gloomy ordeal, a bereavement prank trended on twitter about the death of another South African soul singer who goes by the name Camagwini. Drum magazine tweeted “RIP to songstress Camagwini. More info to follow” and they later tweeted “After much investigation, it appears Camagwini’s death was a hoax. It was a joke that was played on her by her cousin. Apologies.” Her recording label Native Rhythms also confirmed that these rumours were in fact false. She is allegedly releasing an album soon and this was a marketing strategy to get her name out there.
