South Africa’s swimming sensation Chad le Clos enhanced his chances of winning at the SA Sport Awards by smashing his own 200m butterfly short course world record yesterday in Singapore. He finished the race in 1min 48.56 sec. This follows his recent success of winning three gold medals in the Doha (Qatar) leg of the Fina World Cup series three other gold medals in the Moscow leg. “Once again Chad continues to raise the South African flag high. We would like to congratulate him for his exceptional performance. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish fellow Sports Star nominees, Hashim Amla and Lucas Sithole the best of luck as they represent us with their respective national teams internationally this week.” Said Mr. Fikile Mbalula, Minister of Sport & Recreation South Africa.
