Chad le Clos was announced as Sports Star of the Year as voted for by the Mzansi public last night on Sunday the 4th of November as Sporting Heroes were honoured at the 2012 South African Sports Awards which took place at the convention center in Sandton. The monetary value of the award includes a whopping One Million Rands (R1m), Plus a brand new luxury BMW. “Chad has not only won the heart of South Africans, but millions around the globe. His achievements at the Olympics have ascended him onto the world stage,” remarked Minister Mbalula.
