Da Capo Tells An African Tale In New Track – AFRIKA

World-renowned DJ/Producer Da Capo centres his new track in Africa

Nicodimas Sekheta Mogashoa, famously known as Da Capo is an Afro House global pioneer whose music is recognised from across the oceans. Being self-taught Da Capo has his roots in tribal house music which is not bound by any traditions so it’s only natural that the DJ/Producer explores unworldly sounds in his latest release.

Keeping within the vast confines of African music and soundscape, Da Capo gives us a track that we can call unto “Mother Africa” once again. Da Capo featuring Tshepo King – Afrika is taken from his Indigo Child Album.

Afrika is a continental appraisal track of the beauty. A track that revives the pride of the African child by sharing the doctrine that Africa is great “Africa you are so beautiful, you are so mighty, mighty warriors, inkosi izwile, izwile, isizwile isikhalo sethu, there is nothing above us.”

Da Capo employs vibes reminiscent of a Salif Keita song. Ironically with the resemblance is emphasized by the title of that song. Salif Keita, also known as the “Golden Voice of Africa” is renowned for his delivery in his songs and that can be heard replicated by Tshepo King in Afrika. This implementation or reproduction of Salif Keita’s African stylistic delivery gives the track an appeal that translates multination throughout Africa.

In the same breath, Da Capo recreates the sound of Salif Keita in an Afro House fashion. This can be heard in the bassline and the pairing of the percussions.

This track is a testament that inspiration can be drawn across any man-made border and knows no bounds.
