In the music segment of Zkhiphani TV, we sat down with the Global sensation Davido, after the announcement of his latest offering “A Good Time” going Platinum in different parts of the world, including South Africa. During his visit in Mzansi, he was presented with a Platinum Plaque by Sony Music South Africa.
We caught up with Davido to find out more about his influences now and his latest collaborations. He recalls his hit collaboration with Chris Brown for the track Blow My Mind, whom he had not met before making the song. He said that they recorded the song in two different studios and only met after the song was made.
Furthermore, he addresses the tension between certain South African and Nigerian artists after the xenophobic attack that took place in South Africa late last year. Davido says “… Even me, I was mad until I got to understand that most of the videos that were online weren’t even [true] you know?… I kind of didn’t say anything about it because I knew that one day we will all laugh about it.”
