Last night we were hanging out at the Universal music studios in Rosebank, Joburg for the official launch of Dbn Nyts debut album “believe”. Originally from KZN, Durban Nyts consists of 5 members namely Kabelo aka “Kaybee”, Lwazi aka “Slozet”, Wonder aka “Choco”, Cebo aka “TT” and Smekelo aka “Soozan”.
The group started as a dance group back in 2010 and they were popular for dancing the shilolo dance. Their sense of style gained them popularity as they were eventually named the “pretty boys”.
In 2011 Dbn Nyts ventured into music and released their first ever EP titled the next big thing which had tracks like “qoh” and “izinto zangaree” featuring Sqwed that played all over the Durban clubs.
In 2013 the group moved to Joburg and later met Kalawa Jazmee’s music executive Oskido, who then signed them to his label, they then released their ultimate hit track “shumaya” and the rest as they say is history.
