Boitumelo Mooi who is popularly known as Dj Dimplez is a music producer, entrepreneur and a club DJ and he is no new comer to the local hip hop scene. The award winning Wits grad student has been creating hit songs since the release of his first hit single “Toast” that featured JR and beat boxer George Avakian.
The single peaked at number 2 on the 5FM top 40 and introduced Dj Dimplez not only as a club DJ but a music producer as well. “I didn’t feel that local hip hop had enough hits to play in the clubs” He says so that is why he started making music. Fellow producer Anatii has assisted with crafting Dj Dimplez’s sound and this collaborative process made bangers like “the Way”, “We Ain’t Leaving” and “Yaya”. Dimplez is almost done with his debut full length studio album which is due to be out on the first week of November 2014. The album is jam packed with all of his previous hits as well as a whole lot more songs. The album consists of 18 songs and he features artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Ma E, L-Tido, Maggz and Kwesta just to name a few. Anatii who has produced 50% of the compilation is doing final touches before the album is officially released on iTunes and music stores.
