Up and coming DJ & Producer DJ Mizz (real name, Sanele Wili) has today released his debut album, ‘Never Stop Dreaming’. The Khayelitsha native is known for his single “Count Your Blessing” and co-producing the DJ Merlon 2015 South African summer hit “Koze Kuse”.
Now leading his own project and stepping in front of the scenes, DJ Mizz presents a sound he refers to as “afro house”, with African instruments and rhythms pulling together a body of work that is original and worth listening to.
On the production of ‘Never Stop Dreaming’, Mizz has said, “It’s been sleepless nights in the studio, but even longer nights programming, mixing and mastering the tracks. I think the most difficult thing has been getting people that I wanted to collaborate with. I started off with a list of 20 South African female vocalists that I wanted on the album.”
The bulk of the album was recorded at SAE Institute in Cape Town and lends the talents of musicians such as Shota, Cuebur, Mpumi, PM Project, Bob Ezy, Bonj, Leelia Jay, Arthur Timbe and Rabs Vhafuwi. His first single release is “Kuwe” – a collaboration with noted house vocalist Mpumi. The song is a prayer and talks about strength and how there is nothing that can succeed without receiving blessing.
DJ Mizz album is now available on iTunes and at your nearest music stores.
