South African Durban based DJ, Twitty is doing a Sista Bettina remix and he is pleading with South Africans to give him a chance, Twitty announced on social media that he is planning on releasing a remix of the legendary hit track and thousands of Mgarimbe fans protested.
Writing an open letter to his fans, this is what the DJ says…
Dear South Africa.
I hereby request, formally, to do a remix of SISTA BETHINA by MGARIMBE.
After I had posted on my Twitter that I wish to do a remix of the song I’ve had mixed reactions. Most have refused. Which, I feel is unfair to me as a proud South African!
SIST BETHINA is a big song and one of SA’s classic songs (most have even named it the National Anthem) and I feel it’s time we celebrated the song especially now that the song is 9/10 years old.
Which other way to celebrate a song other than doing a Remix?!
The original version of the song will forever remain in our hearts but it also will not hurt anyone if we heard another “new age version” of the song!
Please give me a chance or at least hear the song out & then judge.
