Sowetan DJ & producer DJY Ma’Ten returns with a new single titled ‘Zenzile’. On this Amapiano single DJY Ma’Ten teams up with his label boss Mr JazziQ. Capturing the essence of a warm summer’s day ‘Zenzile’ also features amazing talents such as Leerosoul, Thatohatsi and fellow stablemate Jandas.
The simple yet captivating instrumental was designed with the intention to have everyone on the song showcase their own respective talents and production style, allowing Thatohatsi to deliver vocals that perfectly complement the song’s mellow and soothing rhythm. “I met Thatohatsi through Leerosoul, when we made Zenzile we were supposed to have a studio session where it was going to be myself, Mr JazziQ, Jandas and Leerosoul. When Leerosoul come to the session, he came with Thato and that’s where the opportunity to work with her came up. She has been someone I’ve been wanting to work with for a really long time. She is a very powerful upcoming vocalist, and I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by.”DJY Ma’Ten reflects on the creation of ‘Zenzile’
The track is the latest gem from Black Is Brown, a label renowned for its exceptional ability to discover and nurture raw talent. ‘Zenzile’ epitomizes the label’s commitment to supporting emerging artists.
Born and raised in Meadowlands, Soweto, DJY Ma’Ten (real name Philani Dladla) always loved music from his youth. He followed the amapiano movement from when it was still underground, and he has loved it since. He would hang out with his friends that made music and he finally gained the courage to officially start making music in 2020. He met Mr JazziQ through his friend, Katlego, who convinced Mr JazziQ to have a studio session with Ma’Ten. After three sessions he knew that this is the label and family he wants to join.
