Eezy is doing his bit for Africa Day by making sure that he celebrates the continent in his music
With Africa Day just around the bend we thought we should feature an artist who is all about spreading the positive message of celebrating our lovely continent. KZN born rap artist, Eezy is on our radar, don’t sleep on him.
Mxolisi Dlamini also known as Eezy by most is a young rapper who was born and bred in KZN. Eezy has always had a lyrical style and experimented with beats attached by his diverse culture growing up. Now as a recording artist, his intentions are no different and aims to create music that can resonate with the youth his age.
Rapping about your heritage is not necessarily a “cool” thing to do in an age where rapping about your hustle and how much money you have is accepted. So what Eezy does from the jump already sets him apart. The young rapper says what makes him an African is the blood running through his veins.
‘’My culture and simply being able to speak many of the beautiful South African languages already sets me apart from the world’’.
What makes Eezy cool is not just limited to his subject and worldview though. What makes him cool is that he actually sounds good. From his cadence to his flow and his storytelling- he is good.
The artist and entrepreneur recently launched his single Snooze Alarm. Taken off his latest single, the upcoming artist highlights some of his struggles of breaking into the industry and how he had to maintain consistency through the years while seeking for a ‘’lane’’ to position himself as a Zulu influenced young man.
