Kwaito Rapper Mgaga Releases His Debut Solo Single Titled All The Way
Mgaga goes all in with his Kwaito love song titled All The Way
Kwaito artists have always been making love songs; I guess there is nothing sexier than a thug expressing his love for you in Kasi lingo. Imagine Brown Dash’s Vum Vum or Trompies when they sang Sweety Lavo. These songs carried such a beatiful message. Today, talented Kwaito rapper, Mgaga, is keeping this tradition on by releasing his very own Kwaito love song titled All The Way. This one features August Child and Sizwe Magwaza.
At an early age Mgaga was moved from Alexandra township to Tembisa and then to Edenvale. Growing up with a heavy Hip Hop and Kwaito influence, Mgaga started writing rap songs and freestyle battling. He later discovered that he expresses himself best and relates to his audience in vernac utilizing the Kwaito flow.
He began his music career in 2014 as part of a group called PAQ performing in popular clubs around South Africa. Formally known as Radi-AK, Mgaga is now taking on the world as a solo act with authentic Kwaito music.
All The Way is Mgaga’s first solo single
All The Way is Mgaga’s first solo single after the re-branding from formally being called Radi-AK to going by Mgaga, a name he was popularly known by since before he pursued music professionally. The word “Mgaga” refers to an AK47 because the first letters of his birth name “Akhona” are “AK”, which is his childhood name.
All The Way is such a breath of fresh air in that it carried this concentrated essence of Kwaito music without trying too hard. Instead, Mgaga effortlessly flows on this Kwaito and House hybrid beat and he does the most. He raps about a woman he loves and how he wants to take their love and relationship the whole way. August Child and Sizwe Magwaza do the most on the hook certifying All The Way as a summer hit!
