He dropped the album cover art and track list a few days ago and now Emtee’s third studio album, DIY 2 is said to drop on Friday, the 21st of September. The 13 track offering is also out for pre-order in iTunes and comes with two brand new joints. The first one, Keep it 100, features Saudi and the second one Abantu features S’Villa and Snymaan.

Keep It 100 is an upbeat and vibrant joint which features Emtee’s characteristic hook killer persona on this. Saudi kills his verse! The bouncy and effortless flow and storytelling is what we loved most about his verse.

The harmonies are fresh and just from the hook, this is going to be a massive song on the streets.  The joint is about being true to yourself, your true authentic self.

Abantu is about being aware of fake people in your circle because these are the ones who do the most damage. Emtee sounds like he is speaking from experience and this is precisely why the streets fukx with him. These lines had us in our feels: “There they go, blowing up my phone, won’t leave me along, say they want a loan, get offended when I tell them no”.

We first got introduced to Snymaan on Kid Tini’s Imali joint and on Abantu we get to hear a little about what he is about. His entire persona is so real.  S’Villa’s vocals on the hook are on point and Emtee comes through with the

He is recreating the sound from Avery but with so much growth and maturity in the sound. If these two joints have anything to go by then we are honestly impressed with where DIY 2 is going so far.
