Lunch patrons in 4th Avenue Parkhurst – Jozi’s refreshing weekend hangout, were taken by surprise on Saturday the 27th of July, as a “Redd’s” Hot Samba Flashmob took over the street. Redd’s organised the Samba extravaganza as a taste of things to come at their up-and-coming event the Ultimate Redd’s Door Experience on the 3rd of August at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Onlookers were transported to Rio for a moment in time as the popular street came to a stand-still as the over 100 people strong flashmob filled the street. Decked with drums, samba rhythms, vibrant costumes and elaborate headpieces, a refreshing carnival vibe took over even enticing well known celebrities such as Anele Mdoda to join with the festivities.
300 exclusive invitations valued at R3000 each were handed out to patrons, inviting them to join the brand at the event on the 3rd of August, providing them with the opportunity to discover new encounters in various forms, as Redd’s opens them up to the ultimate in people, places and music.
Last year’s event was one of the most talked about events of 2012, as they created a unique world of sensory possibilities, where guests were led through a series of Redd’s Doors each opening up a fresh, new and unexpected experience. Each area was filled with a surprising mix of talents, engaging specialised acts and amazing combinations of cuisine, with the crisp refreshment of Redd’s complementing the sizzle of a truly mind-blowing, bespoke event.
This year, the event promises an unexpected mix of musicians including Da L.E.S, Newton’s Second Law, 1st Project, Drum Machine, Ifani, ClassyMenace, Blacklace Acapella and Ross Jack will perform on the night.
