In Rage, Showmax’s first Original horror movie, a group of school-leavers descend on a tiny coastal town for a celebration of their freedom. Roxy, Sihle, Kyle, Leon, Tamsyn and Neo party on the beach and drink themselves silly every night. They find the townsfolk, Hermien and her son Albert, welcoming – but are they too welcoming?
Shalima Mkongi, portrays Sihle, the fashionably striking school-leaver who is on the popularly known Rage post-exam vacation with her group of friends from school when things turn eerie.
“South African storytelling is evolving; I hope Rage gives you the inspiration and nod that it’s okay to tell different narratives.” – Shalima on Rage.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in SA has risen to 1 380.
Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize revealed the figure on Wednesday evening at the launch of a 60 mobile sampling and testing units, which would be deployed nationwide to test for the respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus.
He said that just over 44 000 people had been tested for the illness – about 6 000 of them in public facilities.
I ascribe this reduction in the rate of increase due to: closing the borders, enforcing quarantine on inbound travelers, lockdown has slowed internal transmission by reducing the spread during large gatherings and overcrowded transport routes eg Trains, buses and taxis pic.twitter.com/T1xPDS4bhr

While the numbers of confirmed cases was only rising slowly – the new figure was just 27 more than were reported on Tuesday – he said the country could not be slack on basic measures like staying at home and practicing good hygiene to slow the spread to the virus.
