Big Star has come back this year with a new and fresh approach to music and just in time for the ease that this month brings. He gave us a teaser to Time Of My Life yesterday and we were never ready for this easy going and fresh joint where Big Star is just so damn smooth!
He samples Kendrick Lamar’s We Gon’ Be Alright which adds such positive vibes to this songs because the words are affirming the listener.
The live band element to this joint is not only soothing but it shows a different side to Big Star. I mean, do we still call him a rapper or should we completely change that title to something more appropriate?
He still has dope lines but man they are dressed up in a smooth tone and draped with live music and a laid back vibe. Either way, Time Of My Life is Big Star having fun and getting back in touch with his musically inclined nature. If this is what 2018 tastes like, then pour me up some!
