Gallo Record Company is excited to announce the latest additions to its roster of exceptional artists. They’ve proudly welcomed talented gospel artist Malusi Mbokazi, Jazz musician Lucas Senyatso, and Amapiano DJs and producers El Virgo, TallExQ, and Laud. Additionally, Gallo Music Publishing is delighted to welcome alternative R&B rising muso Mx Blouse and Gqom DJ and producer Lelowhatsgood. These artists are said to be set to make a significant impact in the music industry.
Malusi Mbokazi
Malusi Mbokazi has been a professional gospel singer since 2001. He first gained public recognition as the lead singer of the acclaimed group Abanqobi. Under his leadership, the group won numerous awards, including Best Acapella Group three times in a row at the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards.
Laud
Tumisang Kekana, professionally known as Laud, was born in Hammanskral. Laud was a timid & quiet child growing up but has forever had a love for music. During his high school days, Laud started his music career producing deep house, then transitioned to making hip-hop beats, and eventually moved to produce Amapiano music in 2020. Mid 2020, Laud met Visca, who later introduced him to DJ Maphorisa, and that was the beginning for Laud.
Elvirgo & TallExQ
Elvirgo SA is a young Limpopo Amapiano producer who discovered his own sound by fusing electronic/dance beats with Amapiano. TallexQ is also a producer, reigning from Limpopo. They have made waves on the social media, specifically on the TikTok streets with their hit single ‘Malume’ which is a remake of Chicco’s ‘NIta Swi Byela Mani’
Lucas Senyatso
Lucas Senyatso is a South African jazz musician, bassist, producer, and band leader. Throughout his illustrious career, he has collaborated with legends such as Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Gloria Bosman, Rene McLean, Themba Mkhize, Andile Yenana, Khaya Mahlangu, Patty Austin, Simphiwe Dana, Musa Manzini, Keiko Matsui, Stimela, Judith Sephuma, Selaelo Selota, and Ringo Madlingozi, among many others.
Lelowhatsgood
Ntsikelelo Meslani, better known as “Lelowhatsgood,” stands as a leading figure in Johannesburg’s vibrant entertainment landscape, championing the visibility and representation of queer creatives with unwavering dedication. Renowned as a DJ, writer, and content creator, Lelowhatsgood actively challenges societal norms and fosters a celebration of queer culture through his multifaceted endeavours.
Mx Blouse
Mx Blouse is a South African rapper, based in Johannesburg. Starting in 2017, the artist has released several critically acclaimed projects and singles, including “No Match”, which was named one of Apple Music South Africa’s 100 Best Songs of 2019. Having previously blurred lines between rap, electronic music, kwaito and other dance music styles, Mx Blouse’s latest work pivots to rap of R&B, jazz and lofi-laced sonics.Their upcoming EP titled ‘Emotional Home’ is due out late August 2024.
