After some time without dropping a solo project, Ginger Trill has unveiled a cover art and tracklist for his newest project. Titled PIF, the new project is a 6 track offering featuring and produced by K-Tasso.
Ginger Trill is arguably one of South Africa’s most prolific lyricist and it is always a day to celebrate when he drops new music. Well, solo music. He is known for being able to bridge the gap between new and old- keeping the integrity of his lyrics intact while freely experimenting with various sounds.
On PIF Ginger Trill teams up with a young rapper and producer K-Tasso from Potchefstroom. What we predict K Tasso will bring to the EP is his undeniable cold swag and of course hunger.
On the songs he has produced for himself, we get a sense that he is new school with an established Trap sensibility. He plays around with the modified Trap sounds from the more grimier beats to the ambient and soulful ones. And as an artist he is just as fluid.
And we already know that Trill doesn’t need an invitation to liaise with the young ones. In fact, he has collaborated with a number of new school artists such as The Big Hash and Zoocci Coke Dope to name a few and has always brought his best foot forward.
Trill recently released an EP with fellow Dizzy Monks rapper, Top Gogg titled Tales of the High ‘n Mighty. The project saw the two experiment with everything from that turn-up Trap sound complete with the sparse lyrics and repetitive hooks. To the more grimey beats as well as more ambient joints where we see them play with harmonies.
PIF is set to drop on the 2nd of August. Pre-order it here.
