Donovan & Jason Goliath have both been nominated in the BlackBerry Breakthough Award category in this year’s Comic’s Choice Awards. The announcement was made at an event in Sandton on Wed, July 17th. The BlackBerry Breakthrough Award is presented to a comedian who has been on the scene for at least 2 years and who has successfully used social media and technology to reach their markets.
They are one the hottest names in comedy right now, certainly know their way around technology – as well as some of the top stages and even the boardrooms of South Africa. GOLIATH&GOLIATH is a comedic movement made up of Jason Goliath, Donovan Goliath and Nicholas Goliath upfront; and Kate Goliath in the background. In case you’re wondering, they aren’t related. Not even by blood or philandering father, rather they just happen to share the same surname.
Their unique approach to comedy can be experienced in three upcoming stand-up events – all memorable and bound by the common thread, ‘making people laugh and having fun.’

Another first for SA Comedy is achieved as bespoke comedy producer, Whacked: Special Project joins forces with Carnival City to bring you – “The Carnival Comedy Sessions.” This unique concept sees top South African Comedians taking up residency in the fantastic Showbar for six consecutive Wednesdays. Each Wed, the resident will host a fantastic line-up of hand-picked guest artists, and each six week run will kick off with a celeb-filled opening night party.
