So if you want to find out how to grow your hair, what DIY hair recipes to follow, or which hair product you should never be without, read on!
This is what Chris had to say when we caught up with him in Cape Town!
Which hair product should every woman have in their cupboards?
Hair Mousse! I am obsessed with the Tresemmé Beauty-Full Volume mousse! It’s a versatile product; you can apply it on wet or dry hair and it will not leave your hair feeling crunchy or hard. It’s good for sculpting, setting and air-drying. It’s a wonderful product I think every woman should have. It can also be used on African/Natural hair!
Do you believe in DIY hair recipes?
Yes! I am a huge fan of black coconut oil. I have a lot of clients with sun damaged hair, and they’d often complain that their hair feels like straw! I always advise them to get some mayonnaise and eggs, make a concoction of the two and leave it on their hair for an hour before washing it out! So yeah, there is definitely a place for DIY hair recipes!
Do hair-growth vitamins work or are they just a gimmick?
Biotin is a wonderful product; I do believe that it works. I tell a lot of my female clients to take prenatal pills cause they do work! They are sold over-the-counter and help strengthen hair! Other than that, I am not a huge fan of taking pills for hair growth! Hair is hair and it’ll grow when it needs to!
What “insider” hair tricks can you share with us?
Many times, girls struggle with the front of their hair and their crown and edges are their trouble spots! So I always use a little bit of mousse with a duckbill clip and usually just put it all over the clip and it just lifts the root! You just leave it on for about 15-20 minutes while you do your make up and then pull it out! It really sets the root and will give you that lift and volume that a brush won’t. So that’s always a wonderful tip and trick to use!
Any South African celebrities you’d love to work with in future?
Although I am not that familiar with South African stars, I definitely want to explore the SA market cause there’s a lot to learn here! I am really excited!
And there you have it ladies, some of the best hair tips from the best Hollywood celebrity hairstylist! We hope you use them and found them useful!
