The name may sound familiar and if it doesn’t, where in the world have you been? Lebza The Villian has made a name for himself as both a radio personality and DJ. The talented mix DJ boasts residency on the popular youth station YFM’s YTKO dance mix slot, every Monday at 18h00 and he recently added to the list residency on the YFM lunch time show Krunch time with Khutso Theledi.
Born Lebogang Thubakgale, Lebza The Villain is a young, talented mix DJ, Dance music producer and businessman who has been noted as the most anticipated DJs on the rise. Lebza got his stage name when a video director selected him to act as a villain in DJ Mphoza’s video for his track Move.
Although Lebza was born in Pretoria, he sees the community of Ivory Park in Midrand, where he grew up, as his hometown. He graduated at Boston Media house with a media diploma majoring in Marketing.
He recently released a five track EP titled Gift Of House, with the lead singles Ashes to Ashes and Roots receiving significant airplay from commercial urban radio stations. Lebza The Villain has cultivated a sound for himself that has an earthy and Afro-soul feel to it which able to carry the complex melodies and smooth groves. The fusion of these different elements does not only make his music sonically pleasing but deeply moving. It’s amazing stuff!
