Months of choreography, practicing and perfecting routines culminated in Red Bull Beat Battle where in the final against Clinch Crew, I.D.A took the crown. Eight of the country’s best dance crews 8-one-oh Meninas, Ace, Beauty and the Beasts, Brooklyn, Clinch, I.D.A, Via Volcano and defending champs Reptilez faced off in the ultimate dance battle in front of the 2500-strong crowd at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto. “This was such a surprise. I kept on telling the guys that we’d only get to the third round. I kept on telling the guys that we should be happy that if we got to the 3rd round,” Said I.D.A crew leader Katlego Mphahlele “From what God showed us today, we don’t know what he has in store for us. This win means the world to us – it was our first competition and our first title!
