Anatii and Wizkid are the only Africans to receive Soul Train Award this year
Acclaimed and award winning rapper, singer and songwriter, Anatii has walked away with a Soul Train Award for work that he did on Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl alongside Wizkid, Saint Jhn and Blue Ivy. Held in Las Vegas on the 17th of November, the Soul Train Awards honours the biggest stars in soul R&B and Hip Hop.
The Thixo Onofefe hit-maker walked away with the prestigious Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award for Brown Skin Girl. He and Wizkid may be the only African to walk away with the award at this year’s awards. They were among many of the contributors on the song with writers including Beyonce Knowles, Carlos St John, Adio Marchant, Shawn Carter, Stacy Barthe among others. The esteemed award, has previously been won by the likes of Tamar Braxton, John Legend and Alicia Keys to name a few.
Brown Skin Girl was part of Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift album, which was released in July.
