HHP’s funeral could be halted if Lerato Sengadi’s case is heard
Just days before Hip Hop veteran and icon, Jabulani “HHP“ Tsambo is to be laid to rest, more drama has unfolded. According to eNCA, the late icon’s wife, Lerato Sengadi has gone to court to file papers against the Tsambo family, in a bid to halt any funeral arrangements.
In a series of tweets, eNCA reported that Sengadi wants to bury the deceased and in addition to that, she is demanding that they release his remains to her. If her demands are not met then she is prepared to put into motion plans to halt the funeral.
She also wants the family to hand over all items which belonged to HHP, over to her. These include hard drives taken from his studio.
She also revealed in her court papers that HHP’s depression was made use by his addiction to cocaine and CAT.
Sengadi responded to news that the Tsambo family doesn’t recognize her as the real wife when she spoke at HHP’s memorial service which was held at Bassline on the 30th of October. She spoke about how she was there for him and loved him when nobody else could. She also declared that she is going to fight for his legacy and protect his image at all costs.

The reactions from Twitter have been split with some supporting her right to bid and others condemning it
These news have angered plenty of fans who seem split fans who were shocked by Sengadi seeming insensitivity to HHP’s family. Many of whom strongly disagreed with her actions and questioned her intentions.
A will is a binding legal document. This golddigger, lerato sengadi, doesn’t have legal claim over late estate of HHP. It’s those DOM women who were lied to, & told if you cohabit with a man, you are automatically “married” after 3 months. Well, no such rubbish exists in law.

Doesn’t Lerato Sengadi have an uncle, brother or some other elder in the family to sit her down and ask her what she is doing?

What does Lerato Sengadi want to do with his body? At the end of the day she will know where he is buried.. im so disappointed with her actions

Others sympathized with her stating that they believe that she was the wife and therefore she is entitled to all the things that she is demanding.
It’s great to see Lerato Sengadi, a black woman, legally empowered to defend herself. For centuries women have been oppressed by families, especially during funeral arrangements. They are chained to the mattress while their lives are ransacked. May her empowerment be replicated

The Lerato Sengadi vs Tsambo family saga… Wether the marriage was rosy or not, she was his wife and she has every right to bury him where she wants to. The end.
