The time has finally arrived for the castle lite Extra Cold Live. From the 7th of May, consumers can get their hands on the concert tickets. This first-of-its-kind campaign gave Mzansi fans from Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg the power to create their own concert line-up of 7 acts selected from 25 of SA’s leading musicians. With an array of artists from house music, hip hop and DJ fraternities; fans were spoilt for choice in deciding who would represent their city.
The three Capitals of Cold, namely Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, were presented with some of our country’s most celebrated artists, and as votes poured in the chopping and changing of line-ups in the real-time geomap on www.castlelite.co.za resulted in a constant ‘survival of the illest’ tug of war, making #ExtraColdLive a hot topic on everyone’s lips. The self appointed ‘mayors’ for the Capitals of Cold were media personalities Loyiso Gola, Trevor Gumbi and the rose amongst the thorns – Poppy Ntshongwana. These three battled it out and led the voting process with their fans to get us to the final results below.
