It appears a lot more than horse racing took place at the Durban July this weekend! Earlier today, YFM and Vuzu content producer, Thobeka “Thobi” Mthembu took to Twitter to speak out about a glass-throwing incident that happened between her and popular Kwaito star, L’vovo Derrango!
In a series of tweets, which sparked social media debate and women abuse talks, Thobi alleges that, while backstage at a KwaMax Chisanyama event yesterday, she accidentally bumped into “some man” (who she later realised is L’vovo), which resulted in a series of events that led to the man “throwing a whole glass of whatever he was drinking towards her face”!

While L’vovo didn’t immediately respond to Thobi’s tweets, after the uproar, he nonchalantly dropped these few tweets in response to Thobi!

Responding to an interview with Daily Sun on the allegations, L’vovo said that he “did not recall anything like that happening” and that he was “sitting backstage” and never even “went to the crowd”! He also adds that he did not respond to Thobi’s tweets earlier because he “doesn’t respond to such things”!
We don’t know; they always say that there are three sides to every story; yours, mine and the truth! While we don’t know what may have transpired between these two; or just how true or false the reported sequence of events are, we do know that women abuse is never right and that these are serious and damning allegations!
