He is arguably one of the best performers Mzansi has to offer. Popularly known for his role as Charles “Mingus” Khathi in the SABC 3 drama series, The Lab, the super talented Mothusi Magano is our man crush on this overcast Monday.
Ever since his 2003 industry debut, Mothusi has easily stamped his name and made his incredible mark in the South African acting industry.

Mothusi was born in a small village called Phokeng, outside Rustenburg, and according to artist management agency, Owens S Management, the award-winning actor got his first taste of performance at the tender age of five when he performed in a drama called A Dragon for Dinner.
Since then, acting and living different lives have become second nature to the 37-year-old who continues to push boundaries and play outlandish characters with great conviction.

Mothupi studied Drama at Wits University and his talents saw him cast in various university plays. He has acted in many theatre productions including Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and Sexual Perversity in Chicago, USA. Mothupi has also featured in renowned films, Tsotsi as well as Hotel Rwanda.
He landed a supporting role on the SABC 2 police series, Zero Tolerance and also starred in other TV series such as Home Affairs, Muvhango, Plein Street and Intersexions .

His most recent works include the SABC 1 drama series, Tempy Pushas and e.tv’s soapie, Scandal, where he played the infamous role of Pheelo “The Dustbin Man” Mokgethi. Mothusi is one hell of an actor – in fact, the most versatile we have in the industry – who can consistently dish out brilliant, intense and chilling performances.
We love his work and seriously wish we can see more of him on our screens.
