Plenty of rappers claim that they are different and special but few really live up to that until they have to prove themselves of course. Meet yet another one of our #KFCSoundbite artists, CJ Haiku who claims to be nothing like you’ve ever heard before.
Born Chichi Junior Kalwandu, CJ Haiku is an upcoming Zambian-born, Johannesburg based artist. He began rapping in high school and has managed to cultivate in himself, a full-fledged artist who aims to create great music. Art.
His most notable accomplishment is when he dropped his debut project, Rori EP, last year. The 12 track EP was hailed as a win with the African Hip Hop Blog, among others, praising its “polished delivery and solid wordplay”. This cemented CJ on the path to fortify and sharpen his lyrical skills and set-up a place for his different approach to hip hop music.
The young rapper dropped his single, Lit on the KFC Soundbite platform which he says is a good step in his career. A follow up project to Rori EP is to be released later this year.
