Tshepo Mohlala – A force to be reckoned with
We traveled to central Johannesburg at Victoria Yards to meet businessman Tshepo Mohlala who is popularly known as Tshepo The Jean Maker. He took us through his journey from his humble beginnings to owning his very own premium raw denim range; Tshepo The Jean Maker.
Tshepo started his career by working alongside fashion extraordinaire, Felipe Mazibuko who gave him his first break in the industry as he worked as his assistant at SA Fashion Week for the fashion brand; House of Ole.
After many years of experience and gaining the right tools for the demanding career, Tshepo then started his own brand and focused on his business.
The fashion industry is extremely challenging and the 26-year-old Tsakane native has been trying to balance his life lately,
I’m transitioning, I’m trying to scale the business and at the same time I don’t want to be so far apart from my loved ones so I try to make time to see them at least once a week
He says, competition is fierce but Tshepo’s unique brand makes him stand out.
My brand is unique, it tells a story and doesn’t compete with any brand whatsoever. What makes it different is the focus in the detail. We pride ourselves in good quality, services and a beautiful customized experience
When asked which items are his favourite, without hesitation the young creative pointed at his most-liked pair,
The Presidential Slim Fit is my favourite
We’re actually launching a new Presidential Slim fit on 02 September 2018 and it’s going to be the most beautiful pair of jeans ever made
Tshepo exclaims excitedly.
With a collective social media following of over 23 000 people, Tshepo The Jeanmaker brand is going places. He prides himself with his brand’s organic growth as he has worked closely with well known faces.
Tshepo The Jeanmaker brand also caters for the fully figured bodies and customers get the chance to handpick what they want,
