Hip Hop is a very egotistic competitive game and a lot of rappers come into the game and say bold controversial statements all the time and other rappers challenge them and before you know it there is beef! But this article is not about that at all, thing is I recently went to a media listening session of a dude who goes by the name “Blax Myth” who is releasing his first solo album soon.
Now Mr Blax Myth is no new comer in the game as he was part of the rap duo Baphixile which existed many years ago, now what’s interesting about Blax Myth is that he regards himself as the king of Motswako! When the media asked him why he believes he is the king of the tswana rap he simply replied by saying his former crew Baphixile did in fact give birth to Motswako as they are the first artists in South Africa to ever release a full length Motswako album in 1998.
His album is titled Good Space Vol 1 and has about 14 tracks, The album’s first single [Pitoria featuring Magesh] typifies the album – as an ode dedicated to his hometown of Pretoria, how interesting is that? The motswako king who is not from Mahikeng! Good Space Vol. 1 is scheduled to be in stores and available – nationwide, by March 2013. I just can’t wait for this dude to blow up as I can see that he is about to cause a major stir in the hip hop game.
