Photos – MUSA, The Voice, Self-Titled Album Launch
MUSA, The Voice, finally released his new self-titled album this past Thursday at an exclusive event held on Women’s Day.
Looking over the 12-track album, Musa says his biggest objective was to showcase the different shades of South African music and influences over the generations. He dabbles in pop, jazzy influences and everything else in between.
His first single, ‘Ngivumele’ is a soulful afro-pop love ballad which speaks on love and one letting go and allowing themselves to be loved and adored. The song is but just a tip of the iceberg of what he has brewed. Musa worked with Ntsika Ngxanga (of The Soil fame) and world renowned producer, Lawrence Matshiza.
He also collaborated on a couple of songs including a song which he dedicated to the late iconic Hugh Masekela featuring Khanyo Maphumulo and another with the legendary People’s Poet, Tsepo Tshola. Also included on the album are Poems by Toza Buthelezi, Sbu Da Poet & Puno Selesha.
Music means life to me. It is the only language that can evoke any kind of emotion and I love it so much
