It seems that Master KG’s global reign is not letting up anytime and he is collecting accolades. After being certified platinum in Italy late last week, the multi-talented producer shared the news that his song, Jerusalema, alongside Nomcebo Zikode is the most Shazamed song in the world. A major feat that has not been achieved by any South African celebrity.
Taking to Twitter, Master KG thanked his supporters with a few champagne emoji’s. The announcement was confirmed on Tuesday night by the Apple-owned app that helps users identify songs playing around them. This means that Jerusalema is a verified global hit and a first for any South African artist.

As you can imagine, the messages of congratulations poured in with some fans taking jabs at the SAMA’s for their failure to honour Master KG with an award nomination. Casper Nyovest, in particular, was not impressed that Jerusalema failed to get a nomination for song of the year.
He tweeted: “The most Shazamed song inda world didn’t get nominated for a song of the year at Samas. Haha, the Samas are a joke!! The biggest song inda world? Not even to baizisanyana ka nomination.. Yall should be ashamed… haha.. So happy for Master Kg!!! Lemme get back to promoting my album.”
