Global star, Nomcebo Zikode’s album, Xola Moya Wami goes platinum and she may make streaming history if she goes Gold
Gifted singer, songwriter and certified hit-maker, Nomcebo Zikode’s debut album has gone platinum. Xola Moya Wami was released in September 2020, at the height of the global success of her single alongside Master KG, Jerusalema.
Taking to social media, Zikode shared the news with her adoring fans and also revealed that she now stands a chance of being the first Mzansi woman to reach gold status via digital streaming.
“#teamnomcebo💚 we’ve pushed very hard to get this far n now I stand a chance of becoming the 1st South African woman to reach Gold on digital streams and we can achieve that by you continuing to stream and share my album, Thank U”, she wrote.

Xola Moya Wami is Zokide’s debut album. The 9-track project which was primarily produced by Master KG dropped in September of 2020. The album registered its first certification in October with the lead single, Xola Moya Wami reaching Gold status in the first 2 weeks. It later reached platinum status after a month of release.
Nomcebo Zikode rose to fame in 2018 when she was featured on South African producer DJ Ganyani’s song Emazulwini. In 2020, her dance house hit single Jerusalema propelled her to international acclaim. The global anthem has garnered over 300 million views on YouTube and has since been certified Diamond.
