Prince Kaybee is the only African to make the prestigious Times Magazine’s coveted 10 Best Songs of 2020 list

Multi award-winning musician and DJ, Prince Kaybee, features on the prestigious Times Magazine’s coveted 10 Best Songs of 2020 list. He makes the cut as the only African for his smash hit single, Uwrongo, featuring heavy weight ensemble: Shimza, Black Motion and Ami Faku.

Trending on social media a month before its actual release date, the precedent for Uwrongo as a fan favourite was established early in the year. The song set the tone for what has become Prince Kaybee’s biggest breakthrough year on the global music scene.

Music lovers globally have relished in this authentic African release. Locally Uwrongo took the number #1 spot in the country on the Radiomonitor Top 100 AirPlay Chart. The song spent 26 weeks in the Top 100 and surpassing 650 million impressions on radio.

In a tweet, Prince Kaybee complained about the accolade saying that he wishes that someone else could have gotten the nod instead of him. He tweeted: 

I wish someone else could’ve gotten the nod, really tired of these wins and don’t get celebrated enough, I mean even the person reporting this couldn’t even tag me. But this is nice”.
