Closer 2 Music is an artist focused podcast for musicians across Africa hosted by Linda Mbuso

Universal Music South Africa is riding the wave of creating new content that is fitting for the changing landscape of the music industry. This is largely due to the ongoing global pandemic and the changing appetite that audiences have regarding how they choose to consume media. They have launched a new podcast series that is exclusively focused on the artists.

Closer 2 Music is brainchild of Linda Radebe, Digital Marketing at Universal Music South Africa and Nic Burger, Digital Director. The series aims to give fans a different perspective to the lives of their most loved musicians. In this Podcast we will see deep engaging conversational dive, with different musicians from across the continent.

The podcast made its debut on Spotify and also has a visual element on YouTube

Closer2music podcast will also be coming to Apple Music shortly as well as on additional streaming platforms. So no matter your platform, Universal Music invites you to sit back and investigate the music creation process whilst sampling the artist’s music. The interviews are conducted by the well-seasoned and vastly experienced Linda Mbuso who keeps each episode fresh with his approach.

The conversation invites fans to be right there with their favourite musicians, the podcast touches on the artist’s personal lives, their inspiration, their build-up into the music industry, and their struggles and triumphs as well as a lot of unknown aspects on the individual who is the musician.

In the very first episode, we sit down with prolific dance band Mi Casa in a candid conversation about their musical journey that has led them to their latest project. C2M speaks on the band’s latest project and their start into the music industry. the interview will also touch on the band conflicts and split-ups, the creation of their biggest songs, and a whole lot more.
