Eastern Cape born, childhood friends turned powerful, dynamic duo Mr Luu & MSK have just released their sophomore album. Titled All We Ever Wanted Was An Ear the duo also released a lead single titled Sunday Chant featuring Zola Nombona.
After a few days of dropping, the album had already debuted on the coveted number one spot on the iTunes Dance Chart. This was for both local and international charts.
“We are extremely excited about this project and even more so at the reception it has received already. Thank you to everyone who played a part in getting us to number #1!” expresses Mr Luu & MSK.
South Africa is not the only market that has taken well to Mr Luu & MSK’s new album. Their lead single, Sunday Chant, has been well received in Uganda and is currently being played by their top DJs and at popular night clubs in Kampala.
The duo share that this single was not originally made for their album. “The initial beat for Sunday Chant ended up on the latest Mafikizolo album so we had to quickly make a new beat for it and it turned out to be an even better version if we can say so ourselves! It’s a beautiful song and we believe the country will enjoy it,” shares Mr Luu & MSK.
The dynamic duo further adds: “We featured the talented Zola Nombona who many know her for her acting roles in the TV space. We were playing around in studio and were so shocked to hear how beautiful her voice was. We immediately knew we had to have her jump on this track. It was a very honourable moment and the studio vibe was hella fun!”
