What we love and respect the most in an artist is their consistency when it comes to dropping new music. These are the artists who are able to catch our attention quicker and with impact. Kaygee Daking is one such artist. The talented rapper recently dropped his debut EP, True Colours, late last month.
KayGee Daking is no stranger to our website and he has gifted us great music since he came out. Considering that he only began making music back in 2016, the kid has really defined himself and his sound. He dropped 6 Digits last year and the joint came after he bodied Eskay’s Pull Up.
This year though, he has dropped his EP, True Colours. The 11 track project dropped last month and it contains heavy Trap influences. He says that the EP is a reflection of his life after leaving Soweto.
KayGee is a great rapper, it is clear from this project and his beat selection is extremely strategic. This EP requires you to dance or bop your head because the beats are that bouncy and fast paced. He can also hold down a note because some of the hooks on True Colours are pure sonic pleasure.
The EP gets a little monotonous after a few tracks because after listening to 6 Trap beats straight up, all you hear is heavy basses and nothing else. This is a great debut project and we hope to hear more from him. Nomthandazo, Jungle and Sengzwile are stand out tracks for me.

NEW VIDEO: Mikky Jaggaz Delivers Refreshing Visuals For Do Me
Afro Pop and Dancehall sensation, Mikky Jaggaz, reveals visuals for Do Me
MJ Records foreman, Mikky Jaggaz, took a detour in his musical journey to come up with fresh tune Do Me. With his unique brand of Afro beats, Mikky Jaggaz made Do Me specifically for the ladies.
He dropped Do Me 4 months ago and revealed that it was one of the first singles from his EP, the second being Make Me Kolo. The song is about a special lady who pushes his buttons the right way.
Do Me was shot in Lagos Nigeria by sought-after cinematographer, Adasa Cookey who has shot for artists such as Mavins, Davido and more. Mikky Jaggaz craved the touch of ‘familiar’ for his new project. He headed home to create the visuals for his single Do Me. The visuals are inspired and are reflective of the pace of the song thus creating an easy and laid back atmosphere.
Telling his version of a melanin love story, the video balances the Lagos nightlife with the calming scenes of nature and some sultry ones too, just for control. The visuals created for this groovy single were ultimately colourful and easy on the eye.
It was important for Mikky Jaggaz to showcase the possibilities regarding locations for visual content. He makes a conscious decision to do the opposite of the norm,; leaving Joburg to Lagos to shoot this video.
