It is finally here! ShabZi Madallion drops his much anticipated EP, For The People, and it is a treat. If you have been keeping an eye out on the site for the past year or so, you may have noticed that ShabZi has been pushing himself and consistently dropping new music frequently.
From his debut album, SOUL, to his mixtape, Things I Should Have Said Last Year and freestyles, not forgetting the videos, ShabZi has built a formidable body of work. All of these were a precursor to the main show which is Madallion’s EP, For The People, a project which he drops today, on his birthday.
ShabZi went ham this year and began 2018 on high note when he began releasing music every week for the month of January. The first single, The Madallion Show went viral with people reacting positively to it and it was followed by the Whole Thing and Don’t Forget To Pray freestyles among many others.
These freestyles showed ShabZi’s range as a rapper because we were able to picture what he would sound like on a commercial beat with his “no holds barred” approach to rapping.
For The People EP is a 6 track slid project which see ShabZi get candid, as he does with most of his music but this EP puts him in league of his own. He calls out rappers who are slacking and if I may say, he has positioned himself as an artist who holds everybody accountable for their actions and what they say. It’s not just limited to the artform.
Get It and It’s My House are two singles he dropped earlier this year and they have been doing incredibly well on commercial radio. The selection of beats on this EP is dope and they range from boom bap to trap influenced and we have Beats By Blass to thank for that.
