Goosheshe is the name of the game on this hot new collaboration by DJ Maphorisa and DJ Buckz featuring Sjava and TDK Macassette.
The multi-talented DJ Maphorisa, a producer and performer, was born and bred in Soshanguve, Pretoria and started his career from an early age. The release of the chart topping single Y- Tjukutja in 2013 – which was undoubtedly the biggest song in South Africa that year – catapulted his career into the entertainment industry.
Most recently, DJ Maphorisa has produced the South Africa hit Ngudu by Kwesta ft Cassper Nyovest, as well as his own pan African hit Soweto Baby featuring Wizkid and DJ Buckz, which also took the 2016 award for Best Collaboration at the MTV Africa Musica Awards.
“When I produce music, key elements for me include finding inspiration from many sources across the continent and world, with the intention to change the game positively as well as staying relevant while continuing to touch lives,” says Maphorisa on his creative process.
His new track Gosheshe is as sensational and well made as his previous attempts. This joint has heavy Gqom and dance influences that can have everybody sweating on the dance floors. Shout out to DJ Maphorisa for being a beast on the beat; he has a gift of getting the balance of collaborations on his tracks just right.
Sjava was a surprise on this because he has already established himself as a rapper and Afro Trap Soul artist. But he shows up on this and actually sounds hella clean. TDK Macassette is also one to look out for.
