Today hip hop veteran and effortless rapper, HHP dropped his 5 track EP titled Feel Good To Be Back. The EP is meant to be a bridge between now and when he drops his new album. As we know, HHP’s 10th studio album was meant to drop back in June but got pushed back because of technical difficulties. In the mean time, he decided to gift us his EP.
The 5 tracks on the EP are all different sounds and feels that place HHP in a position where we have never heard him before. The Motwakonator does what he is best known for and fuses multiple different kinds of genres which are surprisingly current. Almost the entire EP features up and coming producer, Hugo flash who did a splendid job in the sound and quality of the beats.
He features Kwaito, Hip Hop, Trap and Gqom in some of the most interesting ways and Jabba takes it to the top floor with his interesting flow and how he goes against the grain in his approach to making music.
He mixes a hip hop flow on a Afro pop type beat on Mazenke Music and does an interesting Kwaito, laid back flow on Boomtown featuring Tribal. It’s also impressive to see how he fairs well on the heavily Kwaito beat on Feel Good To Be Back with the classic Motswako flow and laid back vibe.
And don’t get us started on the vibe he has on Ghanda Music, the Gqom track which had us tripping because we could have never imagined Jabba on that wave.
The EP is available for purchase and streaming on all major digital platforms.
