NEW MUSIC: Bongo Maffin Release New Song After 13 Years Apart

Legendary Kwaito group, Bongo Maffin release new single, Harare

We are in for a treat today as legendary group, Bongo Maffin drop their latest single titled Harare. This comes after they have not made any music together, as a group, for over 13 years.

They have however been in the industry for over two decades. During that time they have gifted us with classic hit songs such as The Way Kungakhona, Thathi Sgubu and Kuraone.

Harare is their latest song and in classic Bongo Maffin steeze, it is conscious and speaks to the higher mind of the listener. It is a fiery tune about the awakening of Africa and it’s people. It’s also about celebrating who we are as a people while teaching the young ones to appreciate their roots.

The sound is so current and it makes me think of how futuristic Bongo Muffin has always sounded. It has a bit of nostalgia but it also so contemporary. Plus the bassline rips!

The fans are here for this reunion

The response from fans has been nothing but love with some commenting on how long they have waited for this reunion to happen. Check out some of the responses below!

Bongo Maffin will perform at numerous live events over coming months, including the Blanket and Soul Experience at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Roodeport on Sunday, 25 November 2018.
